Who is Amy English?

Amy has lived in Hutto for more than 30 years. During that time she has seen great change. She has served her beloved city in various ways, but her true passion is serving the faculty, staff, and students of Hutto ISD. In addition to currently serving on the Hutto ISD Board of Trustees, Amy has served numerous local nonprofits such as Hutto Women’s Alliance and Hutto Lions Club. In addition to her role as vice-president of Hutto ISD Board of Trustees, she also actively participates in ISD groups such as PTA, booster clubs, and task forces.

Amy and her husband have four sons that have attended Hutto ISD schools for more than 18 consecutive years. They currently have 3 Hutto ISD graduates, and their youngest is enrolled in elementary within the ISD.

Amy's Service

Amy serves on the school board out of love and devotion to the Hutto Community and her desire to give back to the place that has brought her and her family so much joy.

Since being elected to the board three years ago, Amy has served as Vice President for the past two years. Additionally, she participated in a 10-month trustee program through the Texas Association of School Boards where she received the designation of Master Trustee.

Advocate

Amy feels her biggest contribution to the board during her tenure has been her advocacy at the state and national levels.  Advocacy is so crucial during a time when public education is in crisis. She not only enjoyed it, she enjoys helping others learn how to be advocates themselves.
